The 2017 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Art Contest winners will be announced at an Awards Presentation on Monday, Jan. 23, at 12:30 p.m. in the Commons.
The theme for this year’s art contest was “Be Human Kind.” The first-, second-, and third-place winners will be awarded plaques. All students who submitted a work of art for the contest will receive a certificate of participation.

St. Cloud Technical & Community College and the Stearns-Benton Employment & Training Council invite the public to a Career Fair/Open House with a focus on SCTCC’s Carpentry program on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 4-6 p.m.
The Career Fair/Open House is an opportunity to explore job openings, career paths and skills in the Carpentry program at SCTCC, the featured career in the January SPARK series from Times Media.

Hudda Ibrahim, St. Cloud Technical & Community College faculty member and advisor, was named to Times Media’s “5 Under 40” list for 2017.
The "5 Under 40" awards recognize Central Minnesota leaders under the age of 40 who are involved in the community and local economy.
Ibrahim’s role as an educator and advisor at SCTCC is just the tip of the iceberg; she also founded a business, Filsan Consultant LLC, and is involved in helping Somali-Americans and other immigrants transition into the community.

St. Cloud Technical & Community College is a recipient of the gold-level award by Military Friendly in the category of Community College for 2017.
More than 1,200 post-secondary schools were designated as “Military Friendly.” Of those designated, 541 schools have been recognized for excellence in different categories: academic policies and compliance; admissions and orientation; culture and commitment; financial aid and assistance; graduation and career; and military student support and retention.

St. Cloud Technical & Community College will host Express Enrollment on Dec. 9, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., allowing applicants to walk in, apply to SCTCC and enroll in one day. Those interested are encouraged to drop in any time during the event.
During Express Enrollment, applicants will apply to SCTCC, take the Accuplacer test, meet with an academic advisor and register for classes. Financial Aid advisors will also be available.

Wednesday, November 9, 2016 - Good Morning from Philadelphia. A team of faculty and staff are with me at the 2016 STEMTech conference. We are wrapping up a successful trip where we did three presentations to attentive audiences who showed such admiration for the kind of college we are and what we have accomplished. We all agreed, among us, presenting made us even more appreciative of the kind of college we have.
