Allen Smith, BS, CP, NRP, currently is the Paramedicine Program Director. Allen has worked in the EMS industry for more than 30 years as an EMS Manager, Firefighter/Paramedic, EMS Educator & Flight Paramedic. He completed his EMT and Paramedic training at Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine Ft. Worth, TX in 1980. Currently, Allen keeps his EMS skill up to date by working at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center EMS in Crosby MN.
Allen holds a BS degree from Minot State University and is currently enrolled at Bemidji State University for his Masters in Teaching. Allen has presented at numerous local, regional and state-wide conferences. Allen is aware that people's lives often depend on the quick reaction and competent care of emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and paramedics, and that this is often done during emergency situations in uncontrolled environments. His goal is to ensure SCTCC Paramedicine students make a difference in providing pre-hospital care in these critical moments.
