Student employment is available for students who qualify for work study. This option is noted on financial aid award letters.
Work Study provides the opportunity for students to earn financial aid while gaining valuable work skills in the process.
To secure a work study position:
► Visit the Financial Aid Office near the main entrance to review available jobs.
► Identify a job you are interested in and verify you have the required qualifications for the job.
► In most cases, students will apply for the position and interview with the sponsoring department supervisor.
► Once awarded the position, you and the supervisor will create an agreed-upon work schedule (not more than 20 hours per week during the school year)
Work Performance Expectations
Work study is a real job that serves SCTCC's students, faculty and staff, as well as our community at large. As such, students are required to meet work performance expectations that relate to dress code, safety, attendance, appropriate communication, and quality of work. For a detailed description, refer to the Student Employment Handbook.
Satisfactory Academic Progress
In addition, student workers must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress Standards set forth by the Financial Aid Office.
