As scholar-practitioners, Dr. Booth believes it is critical we focus on a balance of both academia growth and research along with practical implementation and use of evidence-based practices in our daily work. Ensuring both research and best practice work in tandem is essential to expanding knowledge within our fields of study and work. Dr. Booth has research interest in understanding solutions to burnout of youth care workers serving at residential settings. Through this research, the development of the Solutions to Burnout of Youth Care Workers model was created, establishing thirteen solutions to mitigating burnout and compassion fatigue for leaders to implement.

Dr. Booth lives in the local community with her husband and they have four young adult children and a dog. Dr. Booth practices self care and well-being through reading a good book, drinking a cup of tea or a latte, playing golf, and spending time with family and friends.
