When you think Auto Body, most people think of fixing dents and replacing bumpers. But one part of the career includes the opportunity for an artistic flair.
The Custom Refinishing class had just that opportunity in early April when guests Action Auto, Sherwin Williams, and House of Kolor spoke to students about candy colors and custom designs.
Matching paint colors and using the spray booth are vital parts of the job, but using those skills to create art is another option. During this visit, students got to do just that.
“The beauty with art is there are no limits,” said one of the trainers.
Thanks to Do Rad Things, each student was given a skateboard they could paint. They first learned about the products they were going to use, spray, and design with. Although the sky was the limit, most didn’t know what they wanted to create, but after some brainstorming, inspiration struck. By the end of class, they had their designs finished and were able to take the skateboards home.
