This course will cover aircraft flight control systems to include terminology, primary components, flight control surface rigging and adjustments.Student Learning Outcomes
- Identify fixed-wing aircraft rigging adjustment locations.
- Identify rotary-wing aircraft rigging adjustment locations.
- Identify control surfaces that provide movement about an aircraft's axes.
- Inspect, remove, and reinstall a primary and/or secondary flight control surface.
- Inspect, adjust, and secure primary control cables.
- Adjust push-pull flight control systems.
- Determine allowable axial play limits for a flight control bearing.
- Inspect a trim tab for security, travel, and operation.
- Balance a control surface.
- Fabricate a primary flight control cable.
- Locate flight control travel limits.
- Locate helicopter rotor blade track and balance procedures.
- Locate and explain procedures needed to rig helicopter controls.
- Locate and explain procedures to track and balance a rotor system.
