This course will cover aircraft flight control systems to include terminology, primary components, flight control surface rigging and adjustments.Student Learning Outcomes

• Identify fixed-wing aircraft rigging adjustment locations.
• Identify rotary-wing aircraft rigging adjustment locations.
• Identify control surfaces that provide movement about an aircraft's axes.
• Inspect, remove, and reinstall a primary and/or secondary flight control surface.
• Inspect, adjust, and secure primary control cables.
• Adjust push-pull flight control systems.
• Determine allowable axial play limits for a flight control bearing.
• Inspect a trim tab for security, travel, and operation.
• Balance a control surface.
• Fabricate a primary flight control cable.
• Locate flight control travel limits.
• Locate helicopter rotor blade track and balance procedures.
• Locate and explain procedures needed to rig helicopter controls.
• Locate and explain procedures to track and balance a rotor system.
