Student Learning Outcomes
This course fulfils course requirements for the Biomedical Equipment Technology program. This course provides students with an overview of the biomedical technology field. This course will provide a general overview of the daily operations of biomedical technicians. Coursework covers biomedical asset control, equipment tracking and control, and planned maintenance on all equipment. Students will also learn the relationships between equipment and patient care. Students will work with a diversity of equipment, and clinical staff to ensure equipment is available, calibrated and ready to help save lives.Student Learning Outcomes
- Create maintenance procedures on medical equipment.
- Maintain biomedical equipment assets on equipment.
- Use a CMMS for predictivepreventative maintenance tasks. .
- Perform maintenance on medical equipment such as pumps & vitals machines.
- Complete an inventory verification of medical equipment by assigned department.
- Test electrical safety of medical equipment to National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) standards
- Identify proper PPE and procedures for surgical areas.
