Student Learning Outcomes
This course meets MnTC Goal Area 1 and Goal Area 9 - Oral Communication and Ethical & Civic Responsibility. It explores foundational principles and practices of Small Group Communication, including problem-solving, decision-making, group roles, managing group interactions, listening, and discussion skills. Students will engage with small group dynamics through a range of activities, which may include direct participation, observation, and critical analysis of group interactions. Topics such as mediated communication, culture, power, and leadership and their influences on small group communication will be examined. Students will demonstrate their understanding through individual or group presentations, projects, and evaluations, adapted to the course delivery method.
