Student Learning Outcomes
Students in this course will demonstrate a strong proficiency in all components of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) by creating documents, worksheets, databases, and presentations. They will also gain hands-on experience with the most recent Microsoft Windows operating system. In addition, students will understand the components of a computer, computer terminology, the internet, networks, security, and privacy. This course uses Windows PC only. Keyboarding proficiency is recommended for any student entering this course.

- Examine the moral and social implications of computer technology.
- Create professional documents using Microsoft Word.
- Create professional and informational slide shows using Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Create professional spreadsheets to process, manipulate, and display numerical data using Microsoft Excel.
- Create basic databases emphasizing efficient data access and retrieval using Microsoft Access.
- Integrate information between Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Use appropriate referencing, citations, tables, building blocks, and special formatting.
