Student Learning Outcomes
This course meets MN Transfer Goal Area 3 and 10 Natural Sciences and People and the Environment. The Environmental Issues course introduces students to tools and methods to characterize the ecosystem and identify issues. These tools and methods will help students explore important environmental issues such as air and water pollution, water supply, climate change, agriculture and food supply, environmental health, ecosystem disruption, environmental ethics, and energy resources. The course explores the scientific based research and engineering aspects of these issues and also addresses the social implications. Throughout the semester multiple techniques and innovative approaches will explore alternative solutions to living on Earth and protecting its environment for the long term, sustainable future.Student Learning Outcomes
