Student Learning Outcomes
Cardiovascular Clinical II is a continuation of Cardiovascular Clinical I. Students will gain practical training with a focus on completing and becoming proficient in all duties of the cardiovascular technologist in the catheterization lab. The Learner will perform diagnostic and interventional procedures in the scrub, circulator and hemodynamic monitoring role. This course will include instruction from field experts in areas of structural heart, ventricular assist devices, and interventional tools. Learners will use the simulator to manage cases that include interventional techniques.

- Record hemodynamic data for interpretation.
- Prepare catheters on a sterile field for interventional cardiac cath procedure.
- Assist in performing balloon angioplasty/stent placement procedures
- Demonstrate set-up and operation of advanced contrast injector systems.
- Demonstrate proper use of the simulator to perform interventional cases and right heart procedures.
- Demonstrate an understanding of team communication during procedures.
- Perform sterile table setup in the allotted time.
