This course is designed to allow students to interpret the latest ANSI Y 14.5 drawing standards. Students will learn the symbols, rules and geometric controls shown on current prints. Students will be given prints and exercises to enhance their skills in print reading.Student Learning Outcomes

• Understand ANSI Y14.5 standards that affect Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Apply GD&T symbols and controls.
• Read blueprints that utilize GD&T controls.
• Decipher how piece-parts must be inspected if the features have GD&T symbols and controls.
• Demonstrate an awareness of the shortcomings of any drawing, which has been produced in conventional drawing practices, and provide alternative solutions with GD&T.
