This course is designed to help students understand how high performance manufacturing facilities are able to operate. The practical use of basic quality management as well as production tools and procedures will be explored. Students will engage in the use of various statistical process control methods.Student Learning Outcomes

- Explain the purpose of preventative and predictive maintenance.
- Explain the need for equipment standards.
- Identify the key elements of production planning.
- Explain the concept of work flow.

- Specify what should be included in a time and cost estimate of production.
- Identify the key differences between a push and pull system.
- Identify the purpose of a control chart.
