This course is intended to give the student an introduction into the machining-metalworking world. The student's time will be spent in the lab developing skills in manual machining techniques, using various metals and materials, inspection and measurement of machined features as well as an overview of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining and programming. An important part of this class will be the safety concerns of each of the areas being taught. The content of the course will vary somewhat for welding, CADD and electronic students. The electronics students will be given a higher level of automated machining experiences than the welding and CADD students.Student Learning Outcomes
