Federal Pell Grant

Undergraduate students may apply for the Federal Pell grant by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Pell grants vary and grant recipients must be enrolled in an eligible program and maintain satisfactory academic progress in their course work.

SCTCC is allowed to award additional Federal Pell Grant funding for summer classes, even if a student has used the full-time funding for fall and spring. Just register for summer classes - Financial Services will take care of the rest.

Minnesota State Grant

Minnesota residents may apply for the Minnesota State Grant by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Grant amounts vary and recipients must be enrolled in an eligible program and maintain satisfactory academic progress in their course work.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)

This federal program is designed for students who have exceptional financial need. Funds are limited and are distributed under the discretion of the Financial Aid Office.

American Indian Scholars Program 

This is a scholarship for Minnesota residents who qualify for resident tuition and are an enrolled member or citizen of a federally recognized American Indian Tribe or Canadian First Nation OR students who do not qualify for resident tuition but are an enrolled member or citizen of a Minnesota Tribal Nation. Students who meet all eligibility criteria will receive funds equaling their tuition and mandatory fees for each term they’re eligible. This program does not cover books or other materials but can be awarded concurrently with the Minnesota Indian Scholarship Program.

Minnesota Indian Scholarship Program 

This is a scholarship for Minnesota residents who are one-fourth or more American Indian ancestry OR are an enrolled member or citizen of a federally-recognized American Indian tribe or Canadian First Nation. Students must be enrolled in at least 9 credits and meet other eligibility criteria to receive this grant. It can be awarded concurrently with the American Indian Scholars Program.
