Did you know that you can take a behind-the scenes look at innovations in medical technologies and products at Boston Scientific in Maple Grove? The Cardiovascular Technology Students were able to do just that mid-November during one of their lab days.
The Maple Grove Innovation Center specializes in Peripheral Intervention and Interventional Cardiology, so the visit was a perfect complement to what they were learning in class and to prepare them for their internships starting in January.
During onsite visits, Boston Scientific can provide: hands-on demonstrations of current solutions and future technologies; tours of how products travel from prototype to production; and discussions of how to provide better patient outcomes.
The students toured the Innovation Center and learned about the manufacturing process of coronary balloons and stents produced at the Maple Grove plant, which are distributed globally. They also got a sneak peek of upcoming technologies like aortic valves and Watchman devices.
To prepare them for their upcoming internships, the students were able to get hands-on experiences with Boston Scientific devices they’ll be using in the field, including rotablators, IVUS, and angiojets.
Thank you, Boston Scientific, for providing an opportunity for the CVT students to visit the Maple Grove Innovation Center!
