A group of SCTCC of students Experienced the Difference while attending and participating in the Minnesota Collegiate DECA Innovation Summit at the Mall of America.
Kenneth Horn, Hailey Kollmann, Dannilee Olson, Mirfath Sebu, Ron Niehus, Jadelyn Fandel, Julia Peter, Vanessa Santana, and David Macgnone networked and learned from several industry experts in the fields of finance, sales, hospitality, marketing, human resources, and entrepreneurship.
Members also participated in an Innovation Challenge Case Study and came home with third place earned by DECA Officer, Ron Niehus, and top Finalists Jadelyn Fandel and Julia Peter. Students worked in teams with members from across the state, applying their problem solving and business skills.
The Collegiate DECA Officers – President, Hailey Kollmann; VP/Student Senate Rep, Dannilee Olson; VP/Student Senate Rep, Ron Niehus; and VP/Public Relations, Kenneth Horn – led the SCTCC Collegiate DECA Team members in packed day. They enjoyed the networking, problem solving, team building, working under pressure, perfecting their presentation skills, and mostly spending a day with like-minded, goal orientated future business leaders.
DECA has more than 200,000 members and prepares high school and college students for careers as emerging leaders in marketing, finance, hospitality and management around the globe.
