After a very successful showing at the Minnesota Collegiate DECA State Competition, 10 SCTCC Collegiate DECA students qualify to compete at nationals in San Francisco.
The competition was a part of the State Career Development Conference and was held Feb. 20-21 in Alexandria. The conference provides students real-life business scenarios through not just the competition but also networking events with and feedback from potential employers. The competitive events are judged by industry professionals.
SCTCC students placed in six competitions:
Business to Business Marketing
- First place: Kaden Kadlec and Ron Niehus
- Second place: Julia Peter and Vanessa Santana
- Third place: DJ Avenson and Kiya Emslander
Sales Management and Leadership
- Third place: Nate Martin
Hotel and Lodging
- Finalist: David Macagnone
Restaurant and Food Service
