SCTCC will celebrate its 75th anniversary this academic year, with celebrations throughout the year that will include student, employee, and community members.
The College was founded 1948 by Robert Miller with about 100 students in agriculture, business, home economics, machine shop, and auto mechanic classes. The classes were held in high school shops and classrooms.
In 1966, the current location was constructed, and since then, the College has expanded several times, including acquiring surrounding buildings.
SCTCC will kick off the celebration at its annual Cyclone Alley event on Aug. 23 for students and employees. The community will be invited to the celebration on Sept. 27, which will include the grand opening for the Advanced Manufacturing Lab alongside an anniversary celebration with the opportunity to view historical items.
Additional events through the year include two Open Houses open to the public, a time capsule dedication, BrewLäsh fundraiser, and Commencement, the culminating event.
Watch for more information and additional details for SCTCC’s 75th anniversary! We look forward to hearing the SCTCC story in the community and connecting with long-time supporters and new friends.
