The third annual art contest at SCTCC wrapped up with an Artists’ Reception on March 25 to celebrate the winners of and all submissions to “Voices of Us.”
More than 20 pieces of art were submitted this year, and we had more votes than ever. On-campus folks could vote in person or online, and the art was moved to BrewLäsh for the community to vote. The results are in!
Student winners
- First place was Jasslyn Dahlberg with “Steel of the Sea”
- Second place was Faith Behrends with “Ethereal”
- Third place was Sanjeeta Shrestha with “Voices of Us – Unheard Voices”
Employee winners
- First place was Tori Stowe with “Turtle” (winning first place for the third year in a row!)
- Second place was Jeanna Franklin with “Paris Sparkle”
- Third place was KL with “Hummingbird”
The student winners all received gift cards to the Bookstore.
The art contest started during SCTCC’s 75th Anniversary celebration and was taken over by the Employee Engagement Committee for the past two years. We are looking forward to next year’s theme and submissions!
