As Director of SCTCC's Center for Cybersecurity, instructor Brian Volkmuth attended the National Cybersecurity Education Colloquium in early October in St. Louis, Mo.
In attendance with Volkmuth were SCSU faculty members Mark Schmidt and Erich Rice, who partnered with Volkmuth on a Department of Defense grant. The grant provides support for the 2024-2025 academic year and focuses on establishing partnerships between SCSU and SCTCC as well as area high schools to present cybersecurity concepts.
The goal of the conference was to address the increasing need for cybersecurity education, training, and workforce development nationwide. Participation was by invitation only.
