Student Learning Outcomes
This course provides advanced skill development in installation and maintenance of the building system. Students will practice these skills through layout and construction of floors, walls, and roofs, while gaining knowledge of the various installation methods and techniques. Students will perform window and door installation according to manufacturer specifications and Minnesota Building Code compliant processes. Students will develop the skill needed to spot job hazards and OSHA safety hazards. Students will learn best practices as identified by industry standards.Student Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate layout and framing of floors, walls, and roofs.
- Analyze and prepare the building for installation of exterior materials.
- Perform window and door installation per manufacturer's specifications and applicable building codes.
- Demonstrate safe, OSHA compliant work habits.
- Identify "punch list" items on the job site.
- Identify safety hazards.
