Student Learning Outcomes
As a continuation of Echocardiographic Evaluation of Pathology I, Students will participate in an in-depth study of pathologies related to the adult heart, physiological symptoms, and outcomes. This course will focus on ultrasound findings, patient history, laboratory data, and other imaging modalities to help better understand how to interpret pathology. Emphasis will focus on normal and abnormal sonographic findings.Student Learning Outcomes
- Describe the etiology, signs and symptoms, treatment, and echocardiographic features of selected diseases.
- Integrate criteria for recognition, evaluation, and quantification.
- Discover pertinent patient history and laboratory data that applies to cardiac imaging.
- Determine measurements used when evaluating various cardiac pathologies.
- Analyze Doppler characteristics used to interpret cardiac diseases.
- Discover sonographic pathology findings through case study presentations.
- Interpret what needs to be included in an echocardiography sonographer report.
- Determine sonographic techniques and protocols used to evaluate the adult heart.
