This course will introduce students to the physiologic changes that occur within the body as a result of specific disease processes and to provide a basic understanding of the medications used to treat or affect these disease processes. Focus will be on the signs and symptoms, etiology, diagnostic procedures and treatment of common diseases and how the medications used to treat those diseases work in the human body. Knowledge of pathophysiology and pharmacology is crucial as the student progresses to advanced coding classes.Student Learning Outcomes
