- Accepted students will attend a required orientation/registration session in the summer months prior to starting classes for fall semester.
- Accepted Students will receive a list of supplies and purchases needed for starting the program upon attendance at the summer orientation/registration for new dental hygiene students.
- Minnesota Department of Health Services background check required before starting program.
- Prior to starting the Dental Hygiene program in August, new students will need to show proof of CPR Certification and AED training. Students may obtain their CPR credentials from either the American Heart Association CPR/AED certification at the Health Care Provider level, or the American Red Cross CPR/BLS for healthcare (with the AED training).
- Proof of CPR training and certification must be on file in the Dental Hygiene Program prior to starting classes in fall semester of the first year.
- Prior to the August start, accepted students are required to have a current TB Blood Test via Quantiferon Gold, a current physical exam, proof of current eye exam (within 1 year) proof of immunizations (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) and either be vaccinated against the Hepatitis B (HBV) or have started the HBV vaccine series.
- Students who are not vaccinated against HBV must sign a release form. *(HBV series must be completed prior to spring semester of the first year in the core dental hygiene program courses.)
