strategic plan

As we continue with the important work of Strategic Planning, we would like to highlight some members of the Strategic Planning Committee, who make strategic planning possible!

Strategic Planning Committee Member: William Tuoy-Giel, TRIO Director

Why did you choose to serve on the Strategic Planning Committee?

I chose to serve on the Strategic Planning Committee in order to contribute to the future of the institution. I believe that if we have a shared vision for the college it is easy for us to rally behind those unified goals.

What has been one of your most rewarding experiences serving on the Strategic Planning Committee?

One of my most rewarding experiences serving on the Strategic Planning Committee has been the process involved in creating a shared vision for the college. It has been a great learning experience to hear different ideas and contribution of others towards a collective and shared vision of the college. I am proud of the college leadership’s ability to make this process as inclusive and transparent as possible so that every voice is represented and heard as opposed to a top down approach. This process demonstrates President Cheek’s leadership approach of everyone having a seat at the table. Having different stakeholders on campus involved in this process gives me hope for a common aspiration and future of this college.

What are some visions you have for our college that you would like to see come out of Strategic Planning Work?

What I would like to see come out of Strategic Planning work is that the effort put in this process will result in a shared vision that we will all be inspired or motivated to work towards its full implementation and realization of that vision.  It is my hope that the investment in this process is going to be fully embraced by those who may not have participated and that the leadership is able to communicate this vision so that it permeates throughout the institution.
