St. Cloud Technical & Community College is proud to announce that it is now a Yellow Ribbon Company. A Proclamation Ceremony will be held April 18 at 10 a.m.
A Yellow Ribbon Company designation shows that key areas within a company structure create a network that proactively supports servicemembers and military families.
“SCTCC has supported veterans and military members for a long time, and the Yellow Ribbon recognition just confirms that SCTCC is ensuring our servicemembers and their families feel welcomed and have an easy transition to civilian life,” said Heidi Smith, advisor to the Student Veterans of America Club at SCTCC.
On Thursday, April 18, at 10 a.m., SCTCC will host a Proclamation Ceremony to enact the designation. The Student Veterans of America Club will be featured, and veterans and military members in the local area are encouraged to attend as they will be honored at the ceremony. The public is welcome to join us for the 30-minute ceremony, which will be followed by refreshments.
The Proclamation Ceremony will be held at SCTCC in its Commons area. SCTCC is located at 1540 Northway Drive in St. Cloud. Please park in Lot A and enter either door 4 or door 5. Campus maps are available here.
SCTCC joins several Minnesota State colleges and universities in the designation, including St. Cloud State University. Minnesota State is a corporate member of the Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Initiative, and each higher education institution is a member of the Service Member Opportunity College consortium.
Beyond the Yellow Ribbon is a comprehensive program that creates awareness for the purpose of connecting Service members and their families with community support, training, services and resources.
For several years, SCTCC has been ranked highly in the Military Times’ Best for Vets list and has been named a Military Friendly school.
