The time I spent with my Marines is time I will never forget. There is something special that really comes from that kind of comradery that I haven’t experienced elsewhere. They are times that I wouldn’t replace but wouldn’t exactly want to repeat.

I joined the Select Marine Corps Reserve in 2005 not long after high school. I had no direction in life and was looking for some kind of push. I spent my entire contract with the 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion Delta Company as a mechanic/operator and refueler. I deployed to Iraq in 2008 where I spent most of my time fixing trucks on a depot or running support for units patrolling the borders.
