SCTCC students from the Leadership Club had the opportunity to support the St. Cloud community by collecting personal care items and cash contributions on campus Dec. 6-10. The club members dropped off the donations at Anna Marie’s Alliance on the last day of the drive.
The Leadership Club provides students the ability to develop their leadership skills through: leading, cultural awareness, and promoting and facilitating a campus climate supportive of academic, social, and personal success.
The club members lived up to their mission statement by donating much-needed items, as well as raising $300 for the organization.
“They [Anna Marie’s Alliance staff] were incredibly thankful and appreciative there, plus gave us an in-depth tour of the facility,” said Steve Nusbaum, the club advisor and academic advisor at SCTCC’s TRIO Student Support Services.
The Anna Marie’s Alliance is a nonprofit organization that has been providing safety, shelter, support, and referral services to survivors of domestic violence and their children throughout Minnesota since 1979. The items the SCTCC students collected and donated will be given to individuals and families in need and will help the Anna Marie’s Alliance continue supporting the St. Cloud area.
