Paramedicine - Program Admissions

The Paramedicine program welcomes 22 students each fall semester. Students must earn the MN EMT EMSRB Certification prior to program acceptance. Plan to connect with your advisor each semester to prepare for the program application process.

If you are not an admitted and registered student at SCTCC, apply to SCTCC as a Pre-Paramedicine student. Students must earn MN EMT EMSRB Certification prior to acceptance to the Paramedicine program, detailed application process can be found below.

SCTCC Application

  • Apply online to Pre-Paramedicine
  • There is no application fee to apply to SCTCC.
  • Submit high school transcript
    • Required if graduated high school 10 or fewer years ago
    • If the language of record is not English, a certified translation must be included with the official transcript
  • Submit official college transcript from ALL colleges previously attended
    • If the language or record is not English, a certified course-by-course evaluation that includes GPA and course levels must be provided
  • Submit Accuplacer, ACT, SAT, or MCA test scores
    • Or schedule a time to take the Accuplacer exam at SCTCC or a location near you
  • Email paramedicine@sctcc.edu the following information:
    • Provide MN EMSRB Certification card or number
    • Include your name and SCTCC student id or Star id
  • Once verified, student will be notified of acceptance to the Paramedicine program
  • There is NOT a 2nd application to the Paramedicine program, follow the email instructions.

Students must earn the MN EMSRB Certification prior to acceptance to the program. SCTCC offers courses to prepare for this certification.

  • EMSC 1450 : EMT – 1 6 Credits
  • EMSC 1455: EMT – 2  3 Credits
  • MUST take EMT-1 & 2 courses in same semester
