From skills on display to flavors on tap, the 2026 BrewLäsh fundraiser brought in record crowds and fresh ideas.
More than 400 people attended the event held in the SCTCC Diesel Mechanic lab where they browsed the food and brews options, checked out airplanes on display, and perused nearly 60 items in a silent auction. Attendance was up forty-one percent over last year.
The event raised $65,000, and more than $55,000 of that will go directly to student scholarships and program equipment. Nearly $5,000 was from the silent auction alone, which saw more donations and bids than ever. In addition to industry and employee donations, SCTCC students crafted auction items like wooden planters, welded wall hangings, and free-standing cabinets.
“The support for SCTCC continues to grow daily, and BrewLash is another great example. It's humbling to see how much the community cares for this college and how generous our faculty and staff give back to their workplace,” shared Vice President of Advancement Daniel Larson.
This year was Chef Emily Racke’s first BrewLäsh after Chef Jay Thomas retired last year. Culinary students brought forward their ideas, and the menu for this year’s signature Foundation event brought new ideas and different flavors. From Bulgogi Hotdish to Tres Leches Cake Cups, attendees had several options to taste test alongside the paired craft beer, cider, and wine. Any remaining food was donated to Catholic Charities: 70 ready-to-go meals were delivered on the morning after the event.
“SCTCC thrives because of amazing internal teams and critical investments from across Central Minnesota,” added Larson. The event relies on 50+ volunteers from SCTCC to bring it to life with direction from the BrewLäsh. Next year, we hope to bring even more people to the event to learn about SCTCC and to support students. We’ll see you there!
