Auto Body Collision Technology and Medium/Heavy Truck instructors met with Momentum Truck Group and the SCTCC Foundation to accept donations for program equipment.
“We at Momentum know the importance of trade programs and their need for industry assistance to help with ever-evolving tools, resources, technology, and more,” explained Amber Hedin, Marketing Manager at Momentum.
Hedin and President Jon Pearson visited SCTCC to deliver the checks where they were greeted by Auto Body instructor Tyler Kunstleben, Medium/Heavy Truck instructors Matt Hoepner and Timmy Shay, and Vice President of Advancement Daniel Larson.
A $5,100 donation to Medium/Heavy Truck will support the purchase of a new drill press, three half-ton floor jacks, and a dealer-sponsored tool set for students to train on the most current skills.
A $4,100 donation to Auto Body will support purchasing 24 metal shop stools and six metal work tables, which will allow the program to create a real dealership experience for future technicians.
Donations from partners like Momentum are crucial to the success of SCTCC students, as they provide for equipment as well as student scholarships. The proximity of Momentum to SCTCC is an advantage for career opportunities unlike other programs in the state as Momentum has the largest trucking fleet in Minnesota.
