Student Learning Outcomes
Aviation Physics will provide students with requisite knowledge concerning energy, matter, simple machines, sound, fluids, heat dynamics, aircraft structures, and basic theory of flight as it relates to aircraft maintenance. These topics will bring a better understanding of the aircraft itself and many of the underlying subsystems. Student Learning Outcomes
- Convert temperature units (e.g., from Celsius to Fahrenheit).
- Determine density altitude.
- Determine pressure altitude.
- Calculate force, area, or pressure in a specific application.
- Demonstrate the mechanical advantage of various types of levers.
- Design an inclined plane on paper, indicating the mechanical advantage.
- Describe changes in pressure and velocity as a fluid passes through a venturi.
- Calculate horsepower.
