Student Learning Outcomes
This course will cover aviation maintenance safety concepts such as fire extinguishing, hazardous materials, foreign object damage, airport operations, hand signals, and human factors. Concepts such as securing an aircraft and briefing a shift turnover will also be covered.Student Learning Outcomes
- Perform a Foreign Object Damage (FOD) control procedure.
- Use appropriate hand signals for the movement of aircraft.
- Identify procedures for extinguishing fires in an engine induction system.
- Locate and explain procedures for securing a turbine-powered aircraft after engine shutdown.
- Identify airport operation area procedures and Air Traffic Control (ATC) communications, including runway incursion prevention.
- Identify types/classes of fire extinguishers and associated extinguishing procedures.
- Use safety data sheets to identify hazards and proper personal protective equipment.
- Brief a shift turnover for continuity of work.
- Identify information regarding human factors errors.
