Student Learning Outcomes
This course will cover fueling, defueling, and identification of aircraft fuels, servicing of oil, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Towing, engine start, taxiing, and other concepts regarding ground operation of aircraft will be covered as well. Ground operations and servicing of aircraft are crucial skills for aviation maintenance technicians to safely and efficiently move aircraft for servicing, maintenance and testing. - Prepare an aircraft for towing.
- Connect external power to an aircraft
- Inspect an aircraft fuel system for water and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) contamination
- Identify different grades of aviation fuel.
- Select an approved fuel for an aircraft.
- Prepare an aircraft for fueling.
- Follow a checklist to start up or shut down an aircraft reciprocating or turbine engine.
