Student Learning Outcomes
This course will provide students with an understanding of aircraft fire protection systems. You will learn about the components and systems, including fire detection, smoke detection, carbon monoxide detection, and fire extinguishing systems. Topics include inspecting, checking, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing these systems to ensure they operate effectively and safely.Student Learning Outcomes
- Troubleshoot an aircraft fire detection or extinguishing system.
- Determine proper container pressure for an installed fire extinguisher system.
- Identify maintenance procedures for fire detection and/or extinguishing system(s) and system component(s).
- Inspect a smoke and toxic gas detection system.
- Inspect a carbon monoxide detector.
- Locate and explain the procedures for checking a smoke detection system.
- Locate and explain the procedures for inspecting an overheat detection system.
- Inspect fire protection system cylinders and check for hydrostatic test date.
- Inspect fire detection/protection system.
- Perform operational check of fire detection/protection system.
- Inspect fire extinguishing agent bottle discharge cartridge.
- Inspect a continuous-loop type fire detection system.
