Student Learning Outcomes
Students will gain proficiency in the techniques and applications of cardiac testing including the performance and interpretation of patient physical assessment. This course covers electrocardiography, stress testing, Holter monitoring, vital signs, cardiovascular pharmacology and transthoracic enhanced echocardiogram.Student Learning Outcomes
- Discover the various non-invasive cardiac testing procedures.
- Interpret normal and abnormal findings for cardiac imaging and testing.
- List protocols used for special cardiac procedures.
- Demonstrate the special functions on the ultrasound equipment to be used for cardiac testing.
- Perform a physical exam to include vital signs, patient assessment, and history.
- Demonstrate simulated protocols for stress and contrast-enhanced echocardiography for pre-and post-imaging without performing the actual maneuvers.
- Construct a mock simulated report.
- Describe treatment methods including pharmacologic agents.
- Identify indications, contraindications, action, and side effects of generic and brand name cardiovascular drugs.
- Identify the benefits of using 3D imaging.
