Student Learning Outcomes
This is a basic programming and milling course. Students will learn the Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) word address programming language. The primary activities of this course are to program, set up and operate a CNC milling machine. Programming will involve drilling and milling operations and using manual and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) methods. Students will input programs using manual data input or download through a personal computer. Programs will be input, saved and simulated on a personal computer prior to downloading into the CNC mill.Student Learning Outcomes
- Understand a CNC milling machine and its control.
- Demonstrate CNC word address language and formatting in writing a CNC program.
- Demonstrate setup of CNC milling machine to perform milling and drilling programs.
- Utilize CNC programming software to write basic milling and drilling programs and to simulate the same.
- Document CNC program via setup sheets.
