S.T.A.R. Camp (Students, Technology, And Robots) is a summer camp for students in 3-6th grade. The students work in teams to build, program, engineer, and operate a VEX robot.

Summer 2026 we will be offering two STAR Camps!

STAR Camp 1 (July 6 - 9, 2026)

STAR Camp 1 is for students entering grades 3-6 in Fall 2026 who have little to no previous robotics experience. Students will learn how robots work and further their communication and teamwork skills. The camp will conclude with a robot demonstration day for family and friends to attend. We will be utilizing the VEX IQ Robotics System, but no previous robotics experience is necessary to attend camp. Students who have attended SCTCC STAR Camp for two or more years and/or have been on a competition robotics team for at least one year are welcome to register for this camp but may move up to STAR Camp 2.

STAR Camp 2 (August 3 – 6, 2026)

STAR Camp 2 is for students entering grades 3-6 in Fall 2026 who have previous robotics experience as this will be a fast-paced camp. Students must have attended SCTCC STAR Camp for two or more years AND/OR have been on a competition robotics team for at least one year. During the first part of the camp, students will build a VEX IQ robot, and during the second part of the camp, students will learn how to program the robots to move autonomously using sensors. The camp will conclude with a robot demonstration day for family and friends to attend.
