Have you noticed the construction going on at the Heartland Building? We’re getting a new roof on the building and renovating the upstairs, but in the meantime, the Library’s had to move some items around. One of the items is a model of the Auschwitz concentration camp, made by SCTCC students, that was a part of the SCTCC Special Archive collection.
It will need to be carefully stored for an unknown amount of time, so Mary Jordan, the Librarian, chatted with Carpentry instructor Matt Nelson. Students Dylan Johnson and Caleb Anderson designed and built a storage box.
After measuring the model, they came back with the box within an hour.
“It was fantastic! We really appreciate the good work they did,” noted Jordan. “Now our model will be safe and sound.”
