The Cyclones Volleyball season just got extended.
The team finished the regular season 17-14 overall and 11-6 in conference and are on their way to the NJCAA Division III National Tournament. The Cyclones placed second in the NJCAA Division III Region Tournament on Oct. 31-Nov. 1, winning the first game against Northland but falling to Minnesota West in the Championship game.
The NJCAA invited four teams to the national tournament in at-large bids, and the Cyclones found out Nov. 4 that they were one of the teams, earning a #12 seed. The last time the Cyclones went to nationals was in 2017.
“I’m really proud of this group of eight sophomores and four first years. Our sophomores have been really great leading by example,” said Volleyball Coach Heidi Smith. “This has been one the most fun groups I’ve coached, and I’m excited to see what we can do.”
The tournament will take place Nov. 13-15 at the Alliant Energy Powerhouse in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with the Cyclones’ first game Nov. 13 at 3 p.m. Live stats and video are available at the NJCAA website.
