Cyclones Softball player Keeli Doran has been named the NJCAA Division III Softball Player of the Week for April 29.
In 14 at-bats, Doran picked up 10 hits, hitting .701 for the week. She hit five doubles and a triple and stole six bases. Doran drove in seven runs and scored eight, while walking four times.
Cyclones Softball wrapped up the NJCAA Division III Region 13 tournament on May 2 and finished second, falling to North Dakota State College of Science in the championship, 9-4.
It’s not over for the Cyclones yet; the team travels to Joliet, Illinois, to play Joliet Junior College on May 8-9. The reigning team will advance to the DIII National Tournament in Dewitt, NY. They play Friday at noon and 2 p.m. and May 9 at noon if needed.
The Cyclones are ranked 8th in the NJCAA National Poll.
