Students Honored at Annual Breakfast

Early on April 29, more than 100 SCTCC students were honored at the annual Student Recognition Breakfast.

This even recognizes the student contributions across campus, with faculty, staff, coaches, club advisors, and others nominating students to receive the award.

Additionally, the Haller Athletes of the Year were announced. The Haller Athlete of the Year Award is given to athletes who are a superior competitor, quality student, and an outstanding citizen.

Female athlete of the year was Brooklyn Fischer, who played volleyball and women’s basketball. Male athlete of the year was Jack Boos, who played men’s basketball.

The Scholar Athlete of the Year is given to student athletes with the highest grade point average. “I’m not gonna do a tiebreaker on 4.0,” mentioned Nate Hiestand, Athletics Director. Sami Shelton, softball, and Marrisa Mellgren, volleyball were the two Scholar Athletes of the Year.
