Kathy Robinson, Holocaust and Genocide Studies Instructor, traveled with SCTCC students to visit the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington D.C.
The April 16th trip included a group of 180 people ranging from college and high school students, teachers, police and law enforcement personnel, National Guard members, and community members from Minnesota. With a generous grant from The Olga Lengyel Institute and invitation from the Minneapolis Jewish Community Relations Council, Robinson was able to take nine students on this one-day trip to the Holocaust Memorial Museum.
Visiting the museum in person directly complements the Holocaust and Genocide studies course that Robinson teaches. This course fulfills the MnTransfer Curriculum requirement of Goal Area 6, Humanities and Fine Arts, as well as Goal Area 9, Ethical and Civic Responsibility.
Reflecting on the trip, Robinson says, "This was a memorable experience for all of us and our hope is to make this an annual trip."
