What are the most-asked questions about the CVT program?

Students MUST be a Current Student (applied and accepted to SCTCC).

Students can apply with prerequisites in progress, MUST be complete prior to the start of the program. Priority will be given to students with all prerequisites complete at the time of application.

Each prerequisite and General Education course may be taken 3 times.

Consult with an advisor about the impact of repeated courses.

The Cardiovascular program is a 4-semester program that begins each fall semester.

Twelve students are accepted each fall semester.

The Cardiovascular program is a full-time program only.

Once accepted to the program, classes are all held on campus or at Clinical sites.

The Cardiovascular Technology application window is open December 1st through Feburary 1st and will remain open until program is full.

  • First Semester: Classes are scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students are encouraged to attend Open Lab during the week to improve skills.
  • Second & Third Semester: Classes are scheduled on Monday through Thursday. Students are encouraged to attend Open Lab during the week to improve skills.
  • Fourth Semester: Internship are Monday through Friday, hours determined by the site.
  • Clinical sites include: The clinical sites are located throughout MN and the 5-state area. Students are informed of clinical location in November and will begin in January (4th semester).
