SCTCC holds commencement once per year for students who graduated in summer, fall, or spring semester.

Commencement is held at the National Hockey Center at St. Cloud State University.

Application for Graduation forms are available in the Office of Records and Registration and also online here.

Completed forms are used to enter names into the commencement program, in livestream credits, and any congratulations. The applications are reviewed after the spring semester ends to determine degree or diploma completion. Applying for graduation allows us to ensure we mail your credential to the correct address.

Application forms must be completed by the deadline to make sure your name is included in the commencement program. Students can still apply for graduation after the deadline and participate in the ceremony.

Please complete the Pre-Graduate Career Services survey.

Tickets are not required for guests to attend the ceremony.

The ceremony typically lasts about one hour and 45 minutes. All graduates are expected to remain seated with their college classmates for the entire program.

Caps, gowns, tassels, and cords can be purchased from the BookStore prior to graduation, usually starting in April.

The cost of the three-piece set: cap, gown, and tassel is approx. $30. The tassel alone is $6.

Graduates who already own an all-black cap and gown may wear those during the ceremony. Tassels may be purchased from The BookStore.

President's Award for Outstanding Scholastic Achievement: Students who are receiving a degree or diploma and who have a cumulative 4.0 GPA* at the beginning of their final semester will be recognized in the commencement program. These students will be considered as graduating with honors and may wear a gold cord.

Students who are receiving a degree or diploma and who have a cumulative 3.50 to 3.99 GPA* at the beginning of their final semester. These students will be considered as graduating with honors and may wear a silver cord.

Honor cords can be purchased from The BookStore. Your school ID is required to purchase the honor cords.

*Please note that cumulative GPA is displayed on a student's academic record and is inclusive of all and only SCTCC courses. GPA displayed on a uAchieve Degree Audit Report (DARS) for a program may be different than the cumulative GPA as the DARS includes only program courses.

You will receive a diploma cover and a mock diploma at graduation. Your official diploma will be mailed to you after grades are finalized and after the Office of Records & Registration confers your diploma.

Diplomas are conferred and mailed out approximately four to six weeks after graduation.

Graduates should contact Campus Life Director Shaun Keeley (320 308-5922) to arrange accommodates. All facilities are accessible. A sign-language interpreter is on stage during the ceremony.

The ceremony takes place at the National Hockey Center at St. Cloud State University. Guests may park in K lot. No parking passes will be required in K lot during the ceremony.

Shuttles are available for graduates and their guests: Park at St. Cloud Technical & Community College and catch the free motor coach shuttle to and from SCSU. The shuttles will run 12:00-5 p.m. from Door 4 and 5 at St. Cloud Technical & Community College's Northway Building.

Please contact the Office of Records and Registration at 320-308-5075 if you'd rather not have your name listed in the commencement program.

Balloons and flowers are discouraged. Please refrain from bringing those items to the Commencement Ceremony. You will be asked to take them back to your car or leave them outside the building.
