Congratulations to the winners of the 2018 Martin Luther King Jr. art contest, Jabreel Abdi (first place), Jennifer Ogudu (second place), and Tasha Denson-Byers (third place).
The art contest honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and all SCTCC students were invited to participate. There were nine entries for the contest, which were also entered into the Dexter R. Stanton Art and Essay competition at SCSU.
Trophies were awarded by the SCTCC Foundation on Tuesday, January 22 at 12:30 P.M. in the Commons. All contestants received a certificate of participation.
Artwork was to be inspired by the following theme: Be HumanKIND: A Way to Community Healing. "Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable... Every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals.
