SCTCC Cyclone Softball is on its way to the NJCAA DIII National Tournament May 18 in Rochester, MN.
The Cyclones played in the NJCAA DIII Region XIIIA tournament last weekend, coming out on top to clinch the title. The ladies won the first game against Minnesota West 12-1 in five innings. After that, the Cyclones faced Anoka-Ramsey after that win and came out with a 4-0 win. Coach Greg Thorstad also clinched his 200th win with this game.
The final championship game, the Cyclones were up against Anoka-Ramsey again, winning the game 6-0.
Pitcher Shania Kinghorn was named the tournament MVP, and Chelsea Shroeder, Chloe Callahan, and Hannah VanHale were named to the All-Tournament Team with Kinghorn.
The National Tournament will start May 18, with SCTCC taking on #5 Onandaga at 10 a.m. The Cyclones have the #4 seed in the tournament.
