A Network Administration degree from SCTCC provides rigorous hands-on and inquiry-based coursework focused on up-to-date Windows equipment and software, current techniques, and best practices. Our technology curriculum is built on the combined efforts of staff, faculty, and industry partners.
The Cybersecurity major brings together foundational information, technology knowledge, and focused cybersecurity skills to develop knowledgeable and capable security specialists.
Our curriculum provides students with the ability to plan and implement security measures for the protection of computer networks, systems, and data. We provide hands-on coursework that includes incident response, forensic examination of hardware and networks, system hardening, and offensive security methodologies.
Our students at SCTCC experience cross-disciplinary learning, hands-on activities, and project-based learning to engage them in applying their new skills to real-world scenarios that are in high demand in today's IT industry.

Students in our Informational Technology program are equipped with the skills needed to succeed in the workforce. Our graduates understand computer hardware, software installation, configuration, management, and security.
With a degree from SCTCC, students can support and train users on a variety of computer, server, networking, and security related topics and can use network management skills, L2 Switches, configurations, management, security, access, VLANs, encryption, and remote management.
Our graduates can utilize router management, configuration, routing tables, and protocols, IPv4 and IPv6, security, VPN, remote management, load balancing, QoS, DHCP, DNS, NAT, PAT, and packet forwarding concepts.
We even teach students Wireless Network management, configuration, DHCP, MAC address access lists, security, Linux workstation, server installation, configuration, command line system management, and troubleshooting.
To ensure success within the workforce, our graduates can install, configure, and manage Microsoft Windows Desktop and Server operating systems. They even know the Active Directory best practices in configuration and operation, Group Policy management in an enterprise environment, and PowerShell automation.
After graduation, SCTCC students can utilize information systems security including intrusion detection, ethical hacking, incident response, and general security assessment and auditing. Our students can even install, configure, and manage the Microsoft enterprise applications, MS-SQL, SharePoint, Exchange, and System Center.

The Information Technology Infrastructure program is a member of the Cisco Networking Academy and CompTIA Academy.
Our Network Administration program has an articulation agreement with Metropolitan State University. Upon completion of your AAS Degree in Network Administration from SCTCC, you can pursue your Bachelors in Information Assurance by transferring in your first two years.

Students in our Informational Technology program have the opportunity to join the SCTCC Computer Club. This club provides hands-on real world experience by volunteering with local businesses and organizations. Students actively participating in the club have several opportunities to compete in state and national competitions including SkillsUSA, Cisco NetRiders, and the Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition.
