I wanted something greener, bigger, better, when I don’t think my own grass was as green as it could be.

Right then and there I signed up for classes. I think it’s just fun – it’s enjoyable.

I felt like I needed to do something hands-on, so I went to a starter welding course. I saw the robot here and did a few welding practices, and then I kind of fell in love with welding.

Starting with the two-year college just seems to be the right fit for a lot of people.

This is not what you’re going to need in Minnesota. So I said, how can we help these students out?

Find something you’re going to love. Find something you’ll be happy doing a long time. Find something in an area that really tickles your curiosity and you want to know more about.

Do what you want. Especially this time in life, people get caught up in what they should be doing. Pursue what your needs are and what you want to do.

You’re together here more than you are typically with your family during the week. We all supported each other, and it just felt good.

Don’t be scared of different programs. Go check them out and see what we have to offer.

When I was here, we had, for example, specialized reading machines that would read text, and it was very labor intensive. And now your phone will do that. To even that playing field for students has just been something tremendous.
